The leaves have almost all fallen away, except for the last oaks. Even they have come down in the past few days in the wind-driven rain. It has been warm but whenever the sun doesn't shine, you know it is November on Cape Cod. This is my least favorite month of the year, dreary, cold, not a lot of visitors.
I usually brighten it up by doing a "giving thanks" sale, which we are doing again this year. This year's economy demands a big sale and we are offering 25% off everything in the store from now through this Sunday (November 9). After that, we will offer 10% off on everything until Thanksgiving Day (one of only 3 days closed all year). Even with the sale it has been quiet, not surprising for the "doom and gloom" atmosphere forced on us by the media. The past 2 days on Wall Street have been down again, so brace yourselves for another run of "bad news" babble.
I refuse to let them get me down. I like providing a quiet place where things are happy, quiet, even if it is just for a few moments. Come in to see us if you can, even just to say hi. More later..
